Turkish passport types:

1- Red passport (ordinary):

It is the general passport that is issued to all citizens of the Turkish Republic in addition to foreigners holding Turkish citizenship, and its advantages are the aforementioned advantages of traveling to more than half of the world's countries without a visa, in addition to the ability to vote in elections and legal residence on Turkish territory, and its validity extends to 10 Years.

2- Green passport (special):

It is a passport that is offered by the Turkish government in particular to people who have served the state or to personalities with high levels of employment such as parliamentarians and ministers, as well as some professors who hold high academic degrees, in addition to first, second and third-class government employees according to importance and seniority and according to certain conditions.

The advantages of the special passport: it makes it easier to obtain a visa for any country, in addition to dropping some conditions in the application papers such as a bank statement and others.

3- Gray passport (service):

It is the passport that is granted to state employees sent abroad on official missions such as embassies and consulates employees. It is not used for tourism purposes as it is returned after the end of the service period.

One of its advantages is that it grants the holder legal residence in the country to which he is sent, and may also have some additional powers in accordance with the agreement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the host country.

4- Black (diplomatic) passport:

It is the most valuable Turkish passport and it is given to high-ranking personalities such as the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, Ministers, Representatives of Parliament, Ambassadors, President of the Court, Army Generals, Prosecutors, High-level Presidential Officials, Head of Endowments and Mayors of Municipalities.

This passport gives its holder the right to enter any country around the world without a visa, search, or arrest, and the family of the passport holder will also obtain a similar passport.

Ways to obtain a Turkish passport:

The first method: Foreigners can obtain a Turkish passport after three years of their marriage to a Turkish citizen or a Turkish citizen, with proof of the validity of the marriage and making sure that there are no signs indicating that it is a marriage of convenience, and the criminal record of those individuals is also checked.

The second method: residence in Turkey for five continuous years with a work permit.

The third method: granting exceptional citizenship, which is granted to distinguished cadres of academic degrees or for some special cases.
